About AMPERA
AMPERA is a pioneering clean-energy venture developing micro-scale Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) designed to deliver safe, efficient, and autonomous nuclear power for a sustainable future. Our mission is to accelerate the global transition to clean, sovereign energy through advanced reactor design, scalable manufacturing, and intelligent system integration.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Grants & Proposal Writer with a strong engineering foundation—preferably in nuclear, mechanical, or materials science—to join our Research & Development team. This individual will be instrumental in securing funding to advance our reactor technologies and associated systems.
The ideal candidate will possess both technical and creative fluency: capable of understanding complex engineering concepts, collaborating effectively with scientists and engineers, and crafting compelling, compliant proposals for government and private funding agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant, funding, and partnership opportunities aligned with AMPERA’s mission and R&D roadmap.
- Develop and write comprehensive proposals, technical narratives, white papers, and Statements of Work (SOWs) for federal, state, and commercial solicitations.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and executive leadership to collect technical data, cost estimates, and project details.
- Translate complex engineering and nuclear-technology concepts into clear, persuasive language for diverse audiences.
- Ensure all proposals meet compliance, formatting, and submission requirements for agencies such as DOE, ARPA-E, DoD, and NSF.
- Maintain a centralized proposal library with templates, boilerplate language, and institutional data.
- Support post-award documentation, progress reports, and communication with funding agencies.
- Track and analyze proposal outcomes, deadlines, and submission trends to support internal planning and forecasting.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or higher) in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in proposal or grant writing within energy, defense, or advanced technology sectors.
- Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex engineering or scientific material.
- Experience preparing proposals for DOE, DoD, NSF, or similar agencies.
- Proficiency with grant submission systems such as Grants.gov, NSF FastLane, or SAM.gov.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation, budgeting, and compliance.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Experience in nuclear energy, advanced manufacturing, or clean technology is highly desirable.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to contribute to the next generation of clean and sovereign energy systems.
- Collaborative and mission-driven work environment with leading engineers and scientists.
- Competitive salary and benefits, including healthcare and 401(k).
- Professional growth within an ambitious and rapidly scaling clean-energy company headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
